What is Porta a Punto?
Is an innovative and flexible production system: the Lean Manufacturing System. This system adjusts the production in volume and pace of delivery, to generate value for the client through product quality and an efficient service time. In the current situation, delivery takes from 45 days to 2 months since order validation until it reaches the final customer. Porta a punto reduces the complexity and time spent in order management, so that there are benefits for the whole production chain including the factory, the distributors and the clients.
What does the Porta a Punto service aim it?
With the Service Porta a Punto, Portadeza aims to achieve a customer-oriented and competitive production organization and management, improve the cost of the product, the response time, the quality and flexibility of the service.
In other words: the intention is to avoid stock breakage in the distribution warehouses without renouncing to having an optimal stock level, so that there is always doors available and delivery is inmediate, guarateeing satisfaction. With an optimal stock level the distributor has the liquidity and space in his warehiuse, this permits more availability in a larger variety of models for his clients.
How does it work?
To implement the service, Portadeza installs in the client's establishment a shelf system that's run by a traffic light code. On each of the three shelves, identified by a colour card (red, yellow and green), a packet of 16 doors is stocked as a unit, the model is agreed previously by the ditributor and Portadeza. The functioning is very simple.
GREEN LEVEL
As soon as client consumes the door packet with the green card, he communicates it to Portadeza directly by phone or email, without the need to send a conventional order through the sales department.
YELLOW LEVEL
Once the green level has been consumed you move on to the packet on the yellow card shelf, waiting for replacement.
RED LEVEL
The red packet, that works as security stock, is never consumed, this way the distributor will always have doors available to deliver.
Why is it possible?
The Porta a Punto service is possible because it has its initiation in the product process, which optimizes costs and time. On the basis of a semi-finished product the design is finished following the customers request, this allows a quicker supply, by not having to generate the order from scratch and therefore inmediately and accurately adapt the production being demanded.
